Summary of Responsibilities

The Communications Coordinator must partner closely with faculty and staff members to support timely, relevant Highlands College communications and provide streamlined, organized, and effective administrative assistance to the office of the EVP of Communications and Extended Education.

Reporting to:

Executive Director of Communications

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

● Work collaboratively with the Executive Director of Communications on operational, internal, and external communications requests and projects

● Draft various communication streams (Example audiences: Employees, students, parents, donors) especially during high-volume, short-timeline needs

● Serve as an editor for various communications—proofreading to ensure communication has the intended goal and can be distributed with excellence

● Manage multiple projects simultaneously—ensuring successful and timely delivery

● Attend college functions as appropriate to build relationships with key stakeholders

● Advance the goals and priorities of the Communications department

● Manage the calendars of and scheduling for the Executive Vice President of Communications and Extended Education

● Provide daily assistance to the Executive Vice President of Communications and Extended Education for various needs and requests

● Oversee daily operations through collaboration with departmental heads and management, performing an array of administrative tasks from managing calendars, generating correspondence, maintaining hard copy and electronic files, planning and coordinating meetings, and notetaking

● Manage the monthly reconciliation of the Communications and Extended Education budget

● Be actively engaged in ministry at Church of the Highlands and Highlands College by leading small groups

● Affirm and uphold the Statement of Faith and the Core Values and DNA of the College, exemplifying all by word and lifestyle
