The Fitness Coach is responsible for leading dynamic HC fitness workout classes including strength and conditioning, cycling, interval training, dance, etc.
Reporting to
Fitness Director
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop fitness programming that will promote high-quality student experiences that promote culture, community, and a sense of belonging at Highlands College
- Coach large group fitness classes and at times small groups and individuals
- Teach proper exercise fundamentals and techniques
- Manage class attendance and the check in process
- Assist with planning and execution of fitness classes and workouts
- Assist in the development of HC Fitness curriculum
- Conduct fitness assessments and fitness tests
- Organize and maintain cleanliness of fitness spaces and studios
- Maintain high visibility and availability for fitness classes
Other Duties:
- Affirm and uphold the Statement of Faith and the Core Values and DNA of the College, exemplifying all by word and lifestyle
- Create a high-touch environment (love, encourage, welcome people)

Leadership Requirements:
- Provide leadership within HC Fitness and functions as direct report to the Fitness Director
- Oversee students, staff and interns in daily workouts

Education & Experience
- Education:
- Training/Group Fitness Certification
- Education in exercise science is a plus
- Experience:
- Experience in Personal Training or Group Fitness
- Background in Fitness
- Experience leading students
- Experience in fitness programming
Extent of Public Contact
- High
Physical Demands
- High exposure to physical risk
- Great physical condition is required
- Ability to lift heavy weights without assistance
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
